The kids have been talkin chickens for a week or so since they each bought one recently. I thought it would be fun to see how the chickens came to be. Oops, this was a little more than I bargained for.
I think the kids were picturing a nice farm somewhere with a hen laying on its cute little egg and then some nice farmer brought the baby chicks to the store-Not this tramatic entrance into the world.

Ok this is completely traumatizing! What has happened to us as a human race that we have stopped caring for all of God's creatures with respect and compassion? Those horrible people were just throwing those little babies down the chute and handling them so roughly. We would never stand for treating human babies in that way. Or even puppies for that matter.
Thank you for posting this. It has opened my eyes and made me look at them a little differently :) It sounds like your chicks have found a home where they will be loved and appreciated.....when your kids aren't loving them to death I mean :) Totally joking there (I know it was an accident) Ask me sometime about our kitten accident :)
